The Indianapolis Colts announced that the following players did not practice today (9/28): QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder), ILB Anthony Walker (hamstring), WR Chester Rogers (hamstring), CB Quincy Wilson, G Jack Mewhort (rest), and RB Frank Gore (rest).
The following players were limited in practice today: RB Marlon Mack (shoulder), CB Chris Milton (hamstring), C Ryan Kelly (foot), and TE Jack Doyle (foot). Full participants today included WR Kamar Aiken (concussion), C Deyshawn Bond (ankle), and CB Vontae Davis (groin).
The Colts young secondary has been exciting to watch, but getting Davis back into the starting lineup will strengthen the unit and add depth against the Seahawks this week. This is especially important considering that Quincy Wilson continues to not practice due to his knee injury.
The offense will improve if C Ryan Kelly takes the field on Sunday and if WR Aiken clears the concussion protocol as expected. I’m not sure if the Colts rushing attack was stymied by conservative play calling or the Browns defensive scheme, but a healthy Mack would add a breakaway dimension to the attack that is currently lacking.
In the Sunday night game at Seattle, one big play could be the difference so it is good to see the Colts playmakers becoming healthy.
